UX and Product Designer

My little story

originally started off as a Computer Science major during undergrad but quickly realized that I was fascinated by the 'Why' behind the code, I was writing. This led me to explore the field of UX, and after working at a startup as a UX designer, where my app design gained over 100K+ downloads, I fell in love with the art of problem-solving.

I like to think of myself as a full-stack product designer who can lead agile ceremonies, a project from research & design to the prototyping phase to ensure a smooth developer handoff.

Let's talk. I would love to share more about myself ☕🧋

The Beep

It started in a retail store in India.
I watched a cashier scan products and "beep" the bill printed like magic. That moment triggered a question that never left me: “How does technology make everyday life feel effortless?”

Driven by that curiosity, I pursued a degree in Computer Science, eager to build systems that worked behind the scenes. But as I dived deeper into the code, I realized something, I wasn’t just fascinated by how things worked. I was obsessed with why people interacted with technology the way they did.

From Coding Assignments to Critiquing

Every time I helped my mom navigate online ordering apps, I’d end up analyzing them:

 This layout is confusing…

Why would they design it like this?

“Oh, this feature is actually smart!”

My brother finally pointed it out one day:
"You’re more interested in design than development. Then Quit CS" 😲

At the time, I didn’t fully realize it, but later I can say he was right.

Startup Moment That Everything Changed

After graduation, I joined a startup as a front-end developer. A few weeks in, the designer quit.

Suddenly, I wasn’t just coding, I was asked to design the product.

"You can handle it, right?"

I said yes, but truthfully? I was 200% nervous.

No formal design training, no guidelines, just me, Figma (which I learned on the fly), and a pressing deadline.

What started as panic turned into passion. I sketched, iterated, tested, and figured it out piece by piece.

That messy, hands-on experience led me to design an app that crossed 100K+ downloads.

That’s when I knew: I'm a designer at heart.

Turning Curiosity into Craft

To refine my skills, I moved to the US and earned a Master’s in Information Systems, specializing in UX Design at Northeastern University.

But I didn’t stop at learning—I wanted to help others too:

  • Served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for 3 semesters, supporting 60+ students in mastering UX fundamentals.

  • Founded Rising UX'ers, a community where aspiring designers built portfolios, practiced interviews (often over Starbucks sessions ☕), and navigated their first steps into the design world—together.

These experiences taught me that great design isn’t a solo journey—it thrives on collaboration, feedback, and continuous learning.

Since then, I’ve worked across industries like AI, eCommerce, non profit, education and healthcare leading projects from research and wireframes to polished prototypes and seamless developer handoffs.

I thrive in environments where ambiguity is part of the process and where turning complexity into clarity is the goal.
